Jane's sculptural forms form typically result from a 'marriage' between idea and play. Working with her chosen material she works haptically, using manipulation and visual sensors to dictate while allowing her mind to rove across recent ideas. Once she feels she has achieved synergy between the idea and form she then works to complete the sculpture.
Unlike much of her work, Jane does not always seek a 'professional' finish if she feels the idea behind the sculpture demands a rugged look. As with much of her work her ideas develop from current events with a look backwards to the past.
"I feel that I am working at the edge of control - nothing is familiar nor is it alien - it is that perfect harmony of hands and brain working until they merge as one form"
